Reviews ~ Finished Products March 2012

'Tomorrow it's April the 1st. (No?! Are you joking?) What means time for my finished projects of the month March. So let's get started.'

'First thing I finished is this Les Plaisirs Nature by Yves Rocher in Apricot. This was my back up, and now I'm sad that I finally finished it. Yves Rocher have more nice scents from their Les Plaisirs Nature line, but offcourse the apricot one was an Limited Edition past year, so it isn't available anymore. It smells soooo good. And it's very cheap too, only 5 a bottle (500ml).'

'Next are also two products of Yves Rocher. First one is a foot scrub and the other one is one of my almond lipbalms. I finish at least one of those lipbalms a month, I really love these balms. The foot scrub didn't last me that long, sadly enough. I bought it in february this year. The consistency is so watery, you need a big amount to  make this scrub effective. It wasn't that expensive only 2,20. Catalogue price was 6-7 maybe. The lipbalm's catalogue price is 2,50, but I only paid 1.'

'I finished also this Rexona For Teens Music Fan deodorant. I liked this funky smell, and it was only 1,19 at the Action here in Holland. I hunted for this past month, but I couldn't find it anymore.'

'I finish every month a bag of cottonpads. Nothing special. I also bought this one at the Action for 0,59. Most of the time I repurchase this, cause it's so cheap.'

'Next I finished an Catrice mono eyeshadow in #090 Bring me the Frosted Cake. I finished it not completely, but I'm so fed up with this product. It's so chalky, and after a couple of times I applied this with my fingers, wich made it all dirty and gross. It's not very pigmented. This is the first eyeshadow by Catrice wich I really don't like. I think Catrice discontinued this color. I think that, cause I couldn't find this particular color on their site anymore, and my local drugstore don't carry this anymore. It was 2,79. The other thing I finished was this lolly bathsoap. I got it in one of my big Lipsmacker lots a couple of years ago, so I don't know what the price was then. I guess it is an American product as well.'

'Lastly I finished this facepowder by MAX Cosmetics. I bought this again at the Action here in Holland for the magical price of 0,89. I got this two years I guess. I didn't finish this completely, and it couldn't be because of the age. It feels a little dirty on the face. When I freshly purchased this, everything was fine, but now in the present this should be gross. Action discontinued this product a while ago, the last time I hunted for this I couldn't find it anymore.'

Wishlists ~ NYC Cosmetics Nailpolish

'It's time for another wishlist, this time I made one for NYC Cosmetics Nailpolishes. I don't have a lot of make up wishes for this brand, because I didn't heard a lot of good things about mostly their foundations, eyeshadows and some lipproducts. I do own allready from this brand one lipstick, wich isn't my favorite, and two In A minute Nailpolishes (one I didn't show here yet). So yeah, let's take a look at my NYC Nailpolish wishes.'

'I do have a couple of more In A Minute Nailpolishes. I do like how quik these polishes are drying. I tested only the color MoMa at the moment, and I like it. Because the NYC site doesn't have good color samples, I took some screenshots from other beauty and shoppingblogs. So I don't own the pics, and I say thanks to the owners of these pictures. Here are my In A Minute Nailpolishes I want. In A Minute Nailpolishes are €2,29 a piece.'
Waterstreet Blue (LE?)
High Line Green (LE?)

'Another nailpolish variant from NYC is Expert Last Nailpolish. I don't own polishes of this variant yet, so hopefully these are good quality as well. In my local store these polishes costs €2,99. Here are my most wished colors.'
Hint of Mint (LE?)

'I don't own any of these pics, so thanks to their owners. All pics are screenshotted from different blogs, and from New York Color itself.'

Brand Loves and Hates ~ Catrice Cosmetics

'I started an new section today, it's called GlitterKitty Brand Loves and Hates. Every brand has a bunch of good, and bad stuffies, wich I want to discus here. Let's start with subdivide some products from Catrice Cosmetics.'

GlitterKitty's LOVES
Catrice Ultimate Laquers, for color names click here: GlitterKitty's Paw Art
Catrice Ultimate Colour Lipsticks <click here for lipstick swatches>, Colourshow Lipgloss <click here for lipgloss swatches>, Catrice Precision Lipliner <click here for lipliner swatches>

'Let's start with discus some products from Catrice wich I love the most. It's no secret that I love, love, love their Ultimate Laquers. Still a couple to go, and I'm on schedule with them. Enough said, think.
Another item I love, love, love are the Ultimate Colour Lipsticks. They smell like winegums or fruit wich I adore. The colors in this picture are my most wearables, except for the black one wich is called Breakfast at Tiffany's. That one I have for dress ups or Halloween.
You can say that I love most things from Catrice with the black package. The same thing with the Colourshow Lipglosses, wich I love too. These are not sticky, have an very good color pay off, and aren't not too shiny for me.
Lastly I adore the Catrice Lipliners. On the picture you see mostly their Precision Lipliners and one old lipliner, I guess it's called Designer Lips or something like that. I love the way how these liners go on.'

GlitterKitty's NOT SO SURE ONES
Catrice Perfect Resist Liquid Mousse Make Up, Catrice Ultimate Shine Lipsticks <click for lipstick swatches here>, Catrice Lipappeal Lipgloss, Mineral Powder Make up, Allround Concealer, Eyeliners.
Catrice Mono Eyeshadows, Duo Eyeshadows, Quartet Eyeshadows <click here for eyeshadow swatches>

'Next I have some Catrice products wich are in my opinion not very good but also not that bad. Let's start with some face products.
First thing is their Perfect Resist Mousse Foundation. I like how the product feels on my skin. However, it's not an heavy coverage, wich could be good if you want an light application, or bad if you have a lot pimples to cover. I use this more like an concealer, wich isn't that bad, but I want to use it where it's made for.
Next up is Catrice Mineral Powder Make Up. I think this product is for me not so easy to work with. You need to apply it lightly, with not too much product on your brush. Sometimes it won't be applied evenly, but when it's set it could give you an nice looking face.
Then we have their Allround Concealer, wich contains 3 skincolors, a pink and a green. Let's start with the green. Last days I have a very red face, wich I want to make less red with the green concealer, but even when I applied it evenly, you can see the red allthrough the product. The pink one I don't use that much, some times a little around my eyes or on the eyelid. The 3 skincolors I need to mix to get my skintone. I don't have the patient to mix my products. Overall the whole palette doesn't have an heavy coverage, and the product will disappear during the day. If you work very hard when applying this, maybe it should work. I don't want to repurchase this, so please let me know wich concealer palette you recommend. Please place a comment down below.
Next I have a couple of eyeliners. Eyeliners from Catrice will work, but sometimes they won't last very long.
I also own two Lipappeal Lipglosses, wich I actually like in texture and colors. I don't like the shine of them, the shine of these glosses are too much for me, like BAM in your face, you know what I mean. However I don't hate these glosses, I only need to be carefull with the shine. Oh, and these are a little sticky in my opinion.
I own also couple of Ultimate Shine Lipsticks. I have a love-hate relationship with these. I love the colors Berry Me and Stoplight the most, but offcourse Catrice discontinued these colors. Another color wich I like is Simply Rosewood, but I'm not going to repurchase these lipsticks cause after a while they're going to smell funky, in comparison with the Ultimate Colour ones, who smell after a long time of using still good. I think these lipsticks are typically seasonable items, cause these lipsticks are very moisturising and creamy, wich is good in wintertime, but sometimes, the color slides easaliy off my lips, especially in summer. Therefore, the labels wich contains the colorname, rubbed off after a while in my lip purse. Again, the Ultimate Colour ones don't have that problem.
Lastly most of their eyeshadows. For me mostly the matte ones work for me. The shimmer or metallic ones become greasy after a while and feel like chalk on the skin. Not all their eyeshadows are just that pigmented, but with the right base, some of them are buildable.'

GlitterKitty's HATES
Catrice concealer stick in 030, Eyeshadowbase, Allround Mascara

'Even though Catrice is one of my favorite budget brands, I do have sadly enough some products wich I don't like that much, or absolutely hate.
First item is an concealer stick in number 030. This color is way too orange for me, wich I need to mix when I need to use this, and I hate mixing products. I don't know if this product is still available.
Next item wich I don't like is Catrice Eyeshadowbase. I mean, it's good untill you use this thing a while. The consistency become thick and almost dry after a while of using. I'm now on a level with this, that I need to mix this with concealer or foundation, else you get a thick layer of cement around your eyes. If you use this in combination with one of their eyeshadows, it will crease. Not going to repurchase this item.
Lastly I hate is their Allround Mascara. If you follow me a bit, you know that I have naturally long lashes by myself (see here), so this mascara doesn't simply said nothing for me, not even give an intense black lash color. I'm defenately going to try a couple of other Catrice mascara's in future, so fingers crossed I found a Catrice mascara I like.'

Purchases ~ Sneakpeak of the New Catrice Ultimate Laquers 2012

'A while back I had an wishlist for the new Catrice Ultimate Laquers of 2012. Now I want to share you a little sneak peak of one of the new colors. At the moment, only four to go, and then my Catrice Ultimate Laquer is improved again. Today, I bought two new shades: 830 Salmon&Garfunkel and 820 Pimp My Shrimp. I want to give you an sneak peak for the last one. All the others I will mention in my other post (this will cost me a while, so be patient with me) if my Ultimate Laquers collection improved, and complete so far possible.'

'So let's on to 820 Pimp My Shrimp. Swatches are without topcoat, and I did two coats of the color. I'm terribly sorry that I didn't paint it very neat, but to be honest I need to get used to the new brushes where Catrice came up with. You see the brushes have a rounded top, and not an flat top anymore. It seems also that these brushes feels a little bit thicker, when you strike over your nails. I forgot to take a pic of the brush... no idea where my brains where, during the making of these pics. Oh, well... "Note to myself: Take pics of the new Catrice Ultimate Laquer brushes next post..." Lol. Catrice Ultimate Laquers are 2,50 a piece, but I bought 820 Pimp My Shrimp and 830 Salmon&Garfunkel together  for 4 total today. That's a little discount of 1.'

'I was also looking for Catrices latest collection called Million Styles. I heard that these collection contains flakies, glitter and holographic laquers. But I couldn't find it anywhere here. I visited at least 3 local drugstores today... hmmm, hopefully the biggest Kruidvat sell them here, or else...'

Projects ~ Café Au Lait Eyes with BonneBell EyeStyle Shadow Box

'A long while ago, in the time that I collected Lipsmackers and BonneBell stuff, I got also in one of the huge lots I bought one of the EyeStyle ShadowBoxes from BonneBell. I got this one in Café Classics. I forgot about this palette, and to be honest I didn't really care about this palette, cause I thought that it couldn't be good shadows. There I made a mistake. I angled this palette out of my make up drawer today, and I thought "Hmmm, could this work... oh well, let's try it out today." And I was truly surprised by the pigmentation, wich is actually really good. The consistency is so soft and smooth. I wish I used this palette earlier.'

'Here's the look with the colors I used.I think this could be an perfect every day nude look, for school, work or other daily occasions.'
I used the 4th color, a creamy pinky- ish color all over the lid, blended with the 2nd color, a taupe/ brown- ish color. Under my brows I used the 1st color, a creamy white as a highlight.

'And here are the other products I used to complete this look. Just my standard everyday face and eyeproducts.'
Catrice allround concealer, lightest color all over the lid.
Catrice Eyeshadow Base
Catrice Allround Mascara
Catrice Stay On! Eyeliner in Black (discontinued)

'Pics are taken by myself with my Sony Ericsson Xperia Mobile Phone camera, so bare with me. I know, I had to groom my brows today, but I couldn't find my tweezers... sorry about that.'
